Reading Comprehension

Answering text-dependent questions and retelling stories and/or information

Comprehension starts at the third read of the book where students are asked text-dependent questions, literal and inferential, to understand the text, illustrations, and text features. In the action and reactive sequences, students will also have an opportunity to retell the events in sequence as part of comprehension practice.
