Learning Story Grammar and Generating Action Sequences

Lessons in each unit have collaborative learning activities where the instructor uses metacognitive think-aloud techniques with visual supports to generate a story with students from a picture story sequence. As the lessons progress, the instructor prompts students to make inferences and use more elaborated language to retell and expand on the story, which is collaboratively generated.
